About the Journal

On October 12, 1990, the former Ingavi Project was transferred to the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés, and on August 19, 1991, activities began as the Viacha Higher Technical School of Agriculture. Seven years later, in 1998, the creation of the Viacha Higher Technical Agricultural Degree was regularized, which was later modified to the Degree in Agricultural Production and Marketing Engineering by Resolution No. 040/2011 of the Honorable University Council.

The first issue of the scientific journal CIBUM SCIENTIA was published in 2022 with the aim of disseminating scientific knowledge. In this sense, scientific articles constitute a type of written discourse with a specific form and content requirements that allow them to fulfill their ultimate purpose of communication: scientific dissemination. The main mission of science is to improve the lives of citizens, and this mission is linked to the needs of the institutions in which this activity is carried out. Within the framework of this mission and in the specific case of the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés, scientific dissemination and information are essential tools for transferring knowledge to society.

The journal publishes two issues per volume per year. The main requirement for authors is the submission of original or unpublished articles in accordance with scientific publication standards in the fields of agricultural, livestock, and natural sciences.
